Voice of America’s A Single Step: Journeys of Women Leaders earned a finalist recognition in the Biography/Profiles category of the World’s Best TV & Films competition.
Narrated by Academy Award-winning actress Sally Field and produced by VOA Senior Executive Producer Beth Mendelson, the project is an exploration of the barriers women face in the developed and developing worlds in human rights, health, climate change, and civil society. The film profiles five visionary women—an educator, an environmentalist, a media advocate, a social entrepreneur and a public health innovator, who turned bold ideas into social action.
