VOA Spanish Service’s debate broadcast breaks record

Featured Image

“Our numbers keep rising,” Channel 13 in Chile wrote to VOA Spanish during the second presidential debate. The channel broke its Facebook viewership after broadcasting the VOA Spanish Facebook Live of the debates.

Channel 13 and 35 top-ranking networks, each with national reach, as well as 587 other affiliates in Latin America, carried VOA’s live broadcast of the debate with simultaneous translation in Spanish.

Uruguayan radio affiliate, El Espectador, said it would be using VOA’s Facebook Live in Spanish again because “it is better than CNN’s.”
